At this year’s Grammy Awards, David Bowie will
be given “an experiential tribute” by the pop sensation Lady Gaga.
Nile Rogers of Chic, who was the producer of
Let’s Dance album from David Bowie in 1983, will oversee the performance.
The Recording Academy said in a statement that this
tribute is a reflection of the endless amount of creativity that the icon had
and it will be a multi-sensory testament.
Lady Gaga is inspired, just like many other
people, from Bowie and she had also given credit to him, previously.
During an interview with Alan Carr, the singing
sensation Gaga described David Bowie as an alien prince. She also mentioned
that every morning she wakes up and think ‘what would Bowie do?’
Ken Ahrlich, who is the executive producer of
the Grammys, mentioned that Lady Gaga was already booked for this year’s show,
but the sudden loss of David Bowie has made them change their plans.
Immediately, it was decided that Lady Gaga will
be the perfect person to pay tribute to David and everyone agreed to it.
