Angelina Jolie was at the Cambodia Film Festival
last weekend and it was noticed that she has a new addition to her collection
of body art.
The ink was visible clearly on the left arm of the 40 year old
director and actress.
The stunningly beautiful actress is in Cambodia
to work on a movie that is based on atrocities and it is thought that the
latest art work is done to pay homage to thousands of lives lost at the time of
Khmer Rouge reign in the country.
The tattoo seems to be construction with animal
shapes, geometric pattern and lines of script, which is a known tattooing style
of Southeast Asian Sak Yant.
People who get the Sak Yant tattoo done are of
the belief that these art work have genuine magical powers which protect them
from evil spirits and bring good luck, this is a style which is linked to
Buddhist beliefs.
Tattoos are nothing new to Angelina Jolie as
she already has a large collection of them. One among them is easily visible on
her nape, printed in gothic prints and reads ‘know your rights’.
She also carries a large tattoo of Latin cross
on her hip and there is another on the inside of her right forearm with the
word ‘determination’ written in Arabic.
