Jake Gyllenhaal Speaks of Big Shift in Hollywood due to Sex Scandal

Hollywood’s finest stepped out for the Hollywood Film Awards, including Jake Gyllenhaal, who took acting honors for his drama “Stronger.”

“Extra’s” Renee Bargh spoke with Gyllenhaal, who played Jeff Bauman, a man who lost both of his legs in the Boston Marathon bombing, in the critically acclaimed film.

He said, “To be here because of my portrayal of him is an extra honor. He's one of the best people I know. He is probably the bravest person I know.”

“Brave” is also a good word to describe the people in Hollywood speaking out about sexual harassment. 

Of the issue plaguing the industry, Jake commented, “I'm a hopeful person, but as Morgan Freeman's character says in ‘Shawshank Redemption,’ ‘Hope can be a dangerous thing.’ But I do think there is a huge shift.”

Jake admitted that he was surprised when the stories came out.

Jake is thankful for having some time off for the holidays, saying he is thankful, “Just to be at Thanksgiving with my family. I've been working. I'm thankful for my work, but just to be there with my family, yeah. “

As for his not-so-traditional favorite Turkey Day dish, Jake shared, “My mom makes this crazy cucumber salad.”

Awards season is already on us with Sunday night’s presentation of the 21st Annual Hollywood Film Awards®, hosted by The Late Late Show‘s James Corden at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

Angelina Jolie Looks Spectacular in Silver Dress and Red Lipstick at 2017 Hollywood Film Awards

Angelina Jolie knows a thing or two about gold. After all, she has two Academy Awards and three Golden Globes to her name, among a slew of other statuettes. 

But why go for the gold when silver looks oh so good?

The 42-year-old actress went full glam while attending the Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday. 

She donned a silver silk gown with velvet waist belt from Jenny Packham’s AW17 Catwalk Collection, accenting the look with a bold red lip and matching nails.

The mother of six wore her brunette hair in loose waves and accessorized with a stunning diamond necklace.

On Sunday, Jolie picked up the Hollywood Foreign Language Film Award with Loung Ung for their critically-acclaimed film First They Killed My Father. 

Jolie directed the movie and co-wrote the screenplay with Ung, whose gripping memoir the film is based upon.
