Producer Adam Fields Accused of Sexual Harassment by Multiple Women

"He came to me and basically told me if I went to his house and had sex with him, I could be moved up high at Relativity," says one of the women.
Veteran Hollywood executive and producer Adam Fields sexually harassed women while he was serving in various capacities at Relativity Media from 2010 to 2016, according to multiple people who shared their accounts with The Hollywood Reporter.
Three women — a lawyer, a prominent screenwriter and a junior executive — told similar stories that include being touched inappropriately, sexually propositioned and subjected to lewd behavior by the onetime co-president of production.
THR also has viewed several legal documents stemming from a lawsuit filed by Fields against former CEO Ryan Kavanaugh in January. The documents reference two assistants who are not among the people THR spoke with and who complained internally about being sexually harassed by Fields during his five-month stint as Relativity co-president.
The conduct described in the documents ranged from unwanted touching to inappropriate sexual comments to streaming X-rated material on his phone in public areas of the company's Beverly Hills offices. According to the documents, one major talent agency said it would no longer work with Fields at the time.
Unlike most of the other sexual harassment claims sweeping Hollywood over the past month, these allegations come at a time when the accused and his former employer are locked in ongoing litigation, which Fields' lawyer Dale Kinsella referenced in response to the claims. However, of the three women THR talked to, only one is involved in that suit.
It was on the 2010 set of Limitless that screenwriter and producer Leslie Dixon says she endured Fields' aggressive overtures. Fields, 62, whose film credits date back to 1981's Endless Love and include producing Great Balls of Fire! and, more recently, The Wedding Ringer, had been hired by Relativity to run production on the Bradley Cooper starrer.
It started with Fields' unsolicited touching, says Dixon, which she tried to deflect, followed by lascivious remarks. One day, with multiple witnesses on hand, Fields suggested that Dixon needed a sex toy.
She immediately walked off the Times Square set, called her CAA agent and lawyer and complained, she says. Her agent was able to insulate Dixon from further contact with Fields on the set.

Disney in plans to Acquire Much of 20th Century Fox

Executives at Disney and Fox spoke for the past few weeks but are no longer negotiating, CNBC reported.

Disney has spoken to 21st Century Fox about acquiring most of its assets in a move that, should it come to fruition, would allow the Rupert Murdoch-controlled company to focus almost exclusively on sports and news, according to CNBC.
The negotiations come at a pivotal time, as Disney is readying a streaming product to rival Netflix and could use movie and TV content from 21st Century Fox to do so.
As for 21st Century Fox, it is trying to purchase European satellite TV service Sky, which would help it distribute both news and sports, along with all other content.
A 21st Century Fox spokesperson had no comment and Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The report, though, caused shares of 21st Century Fox to spike 7 percent in midday trading on Monday.
Executives at Disney and Fox spoke for the past few weeks but are no longer negotiating, David Faber of CNBC reported Monday. He added that negotiations could begin again but that there's no guarantee a deal will get done.
For Fox, a deal to unload its TV and movie studio on Disney would mean partially exiting a rapidly changing space where competition suddenly includes richly funded digital companies like Amazon.com, Facebook, Google and Netflix. News and sports, on the other hand, remain slightly more predictable businesses.
Disney's need for content, meanwhile, has never been greater, given the streaming business it is creating with its acquisition of BAMTech in August is meant to go head-to-head with Netflix.
Disney, in fact, is pulling its Pixar and Disney-branded content from Netflix so that consumers desiring those shows and movies will have incentive to subscribe to Disney's upcoming service, which will also include Marvel and Star Wars product and could conceivably add movies and shows from Fox at a later date.

Sexual Harassment Not A New Thing in Hollywood

Re “How can we end sexual misconduct?” (Question of the Week, Oct. 30):

The problem is it takes at least two to have a problem and it’s easy to simplify this saying men are taking advantage of women, men taking advantage of men or women taking advantage of either sex.

In Hollywood as in many businesses it comes down to what someone’s willing to do to get and keep a job. There are far too many cases of someone wanting a job more than they want to not be taken advantage of. That’s a fact. To deny it is pure ignorance.

Far too many men and women will do whatever it takes to get the career they too desperately desire. I’m certainly not saying it’s right or moral or not criminal in some cases.

Those using the one charged with misconduct need to take a much longer look inward. The contempt may be for themselves as much as for the accused.
I worked in the industry over 30 years and this isn’t anything new or original for Hollywood and many businesses. Quid pro quo at its worst.
Vance Frederick, Long Beach

Education is key

It all begins with educating our young men and woman. Give them good self-esteem and education so when going out into the work field they will not feel the need to use anything but their brains to make a good impression and get the job they want.

When going for that interview a hotel room is not the place! If advances are made, excuse yourself and report it immediately.

No statue of limitations would encourage people to report such behavior at the time and maybe these individuals would not be able to continue to hurt others.

Selena: Huge Crowd Gathered for Hollywood Hall of Fame Ceremony

Fans, family, former colleagues, and other honored guests gathered Nov. 3 to pay tribute to the late Tejano singer

A commemorative ceremony honoring late Tejano singer Selena took place on Friday, Nov. 3, and attracted a record-breaking crowd as the Latin music icon's new star was installed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

As Billboard reports, more than 4,500 fans were in attendance on Vine Street for the evening ceremony, which a representative from the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce later confirmed to be the largest crowd that has ever been present for a Walk of Fame ceremony — a record set almost 20 years ago when Mexican singer Vicente Fernández received his own Walk Of Fame star in 1998.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti was present at the ceremony to address the gathered crowd of fans, family, and honored guests. "This is history in the making," he proclaimed.

"Selena was an angel, and we thank the family for all they gave and have given this country, and it’s a message we need now more than ever. Because we aren’t strangers to this land, this is our home."

Irish Actress Maureen O'Hara - Sexual Harassment was there in Hollywood More Than 70 Years Ago

To say that Hollywood has a sexual harassment problem would be a gross understatement.
Following a barrage of reports about producer Harvey Weinstein and director James Toback, more and more women have come forward to share their own stories of sexual misconduct and assault.
Making these allegations all the more harrowing is how closely they follow a decades-long pattern of predatory behavior.
Case in point: a 1945 interview with Maureen O'Hara, one in which the Irish actress describes being sexually harassed on a film set.
The 72-year-old article was originally published in The Mirror but has made its way into the twenty-first century thanks to a tweet posted earlier this month by pianist James Rhodes.
O'Hara, who starred in films like The Quiet Man, How Green Was My Valley, and Miracle on 34th Street, says that after rejecting producers' and directors' sexual advances she was labeled a "cold potato without sex appeal."

2017 Hollywood Film Awards Stunned as Kate Winslet Kissed Allison Janney

The 2017 Hollywood Film Awards had some surprise girl-on-girl action.
At the Beverly Hilton Sunday, Shailene Woodley presented the Hollywood Actress award to her Divergent co-star Kate Winslet, who next appears opposite Justin Timberlake in the Woody Allen movie Wonder Wheel
At the beginning of Winslet's acceptance speech, she told Woodley, "Thank you, Shai. Thank you so much for those wonderful words. I'm very proud to be next to you on this stage. Thank you for your grace, your integrity and your beautiful words."
Rather than stand alone in the spotlight, Winslet wanted to shine a light on others in the room, so she used her speech to herald their accomplishments. "What a great room this is to be in tonight, filled with so many achievements and such powerful creativity.

I'm deeply appreciative of this acknowledgement, at a time when the voices of artists play such an important role in storytelling and pushing boundaries, and that feels necessary today—more than ever before, I think," she said.

Winslet went on to say that "one of the most rewarding things about this job" is "the opportunity to work alongside incredible actors," and so she wanted "to thank and applaud" her fellow actors being honored, "for your passionate dedication and your brilliance."

"Allison Janney is in this room. Allison, I know I don't really know you, but I just want to be you," she said. "I do. Or just stroke you or something. I mean, we could always kiss, maybe."
As Janney cheered from her seat, Winslet said, "Maybe?"
Janney jumped up and rushed toward the stage.
"Oh, it's gonna happen. Quick, quick, quick!" Winslet said. "This is an exciting moment, isn't it?"
After sharing a passionate (albeit quick) kiss on the lips, Winslet was too flustered to finish her speech. "Thank you very much," the actress told the audience. "Now I'm a little bit breathless!"

'Walking Dead' Star Pays Tribute to Season 8's Most Tragic Death Yet

Ross Marquand heaps praise upon his fallen co-star: "He's easily one of the most talented people I have ever met in my life."

Warning: this story contains spoilers for season eight, episode three of AMC's The Walking Dead, "Monsters," as well as spoilers from the comics on which the show is based.

The writing was on the wall as recently as last week, and as early as 2013 for fans of the Walking Dead comic books: the death of an Alexandrian, one of the two men responsible for saving Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of Team Family from their time on the open road back in season five.

That man: Eric Raleigh, played by Jordan Woods-Robinson. After sustaining a gunshot wound in battle against the Saviors toward the end of "The Damned," Eric finally succumbed to his injuries in the latest installment of the series, "Monsters."

In the comics, Eric dies with no warning at all, shot in the head in the thick of the gunfight, right in front of his longtime boyfriend Aaron.

For its version of the violent tragedy, the Walking Dead TV series afforded Eric and Ross Marquand's Aaron an extended moment by a quiet tree, far enough away from the battle for one last goodbye, even if those firmly final words went unspoken.

Following the firefight with the Saviors, Aaron returns to the tree where he left Eric, only to find that his boyfriend is gone. When he looks out into the distance, Aaron watches as a zombified Eric wanders off into the forest, too far away and too close to other walkers for Aaron to put the reanimated Eric down for good.

As one of the kindest characters on The Walking Dead, presently and otherwise, it's troubling to think that Aaron could very easily slip into a downward spiral of darkness in light of Eric's death. But for his part, Ross Marquand says Aaron will respond to losing the love of his life in a way that's true to the spirit of both courageous men.

Hollywood Plagued by Continued Sexual Assault Allegations

It  seems that every day  new allegations of sexual assault, harassment or abuse are levied against high-powered Hollywood figures.

A “PEDOPHILIA RING”
Corey Feldman has named one of his alleged abusers after promising to out Hollywood’s “pedophilia ring.”
The 46-year-old actor accused his former assistant Jon Grissom, who later had bit roles in several movies, of molesting him in the ‘80s.
On “Dr. Oz” Thursday, Feldman called the LAPD to file a report against Grissom. LAPD confirmed they were “aware of the incident.”
The “Goonies” star has claimed for years that he and Corey Haim, who died in 2010, were victims of child sexual abuse.
The child actor recently announced that he’s launching a $10 million fund-raising campaign for a feature film to out the other members of the “pedophilia ring.”

On Monday, Feldman also accused manager Marty Weiss of abusing him.
Kevin Spacey is alleged to have made an unwanted sexual advance toward actor Anthony Rapp in 1986. Rapp was a minor at the time, and Spacey was 26.
